On Friday 17th June, the Global Gardens of Peace Fundraising event features an art auction. Paintings by Angus Douglas of the Tasmanian bushland were a feature. Not all of Angus’ paintings sold on the night (some were just for sale and not part of the auction) but the ones that did went for great prices.
Other auction items were also very well received. Accommodation on Bruny island. A dinner at Gimlet. A walk in the Botanical Gardens with Andrew Laidlaw. Cheese and Gin hampers. Gardening books, A weekend for 4 at the Yarra Valley Estate. All items generously donated with hard fought bidding.
Just over $25,000 was raised on the night, taking us much, much closer to our target…. a real team effort with Yooralla and the Global Gardens working together to fund the Gerard’s garden. Plus, of course, Gerard’s fundraising efforts too will be added too.
