The inspiration for the VASS Food Forest came from the Ikea Grow Room that Gerard found originally on-line. Upon investigation, he got in contact with John Rayner from the University of Melbourne, Burnley Campus and found that his team had actually built one and that it is on the grounds at Melbourne University in Swanston Street, Melbourne. A quick visit, and Gerard knew we needed to have one at VASS- or something similar. Hence the Green Room is a central focus to the design of the VASS Food Forest.
